What is TaKeTiNa?
We couldn't live without rhythm.
We couldn't learn without rhythm.
Life as rhythm begins in our mother's womb. From the very beginning, rhythm is a thread that connects us to the world. Before we are even born, we feel that rhythmical thread. That connection ~ our own heartbeat ~ carries us through life and helps us learn.
We do our fastest and most impressive learning as babies and young children. Why? Because we are beginners at everything!
Watch a baby learning to walk.
Step - step - plop!
Plop is not a failure; it is simply part of the learning process. A baby will not be stopped from getting up and trying again. Over and over, for however long it takes.
As we enter school, we begin to lose that aliveness and enthusiasm. We start to fear "making a mistake" as early as first and second grade! By middle school and high school, it can be terrifying to take a guess. There are still many new things to learn and experience, but we're expected to "get it right" the first time. One misstep has turned into failure.
Likely as not, we've become our own worst critic. We think we can't, so we don't try.
TaKeTiNa invites everyone to be a beginner again. It lets people re-experience the resilience , perseverance and joy of a baby learning to walk.
From teens to seniors, and everyone in-between, TaKeTiNa workshop participants discover new insights on life, expanded possibilities for themselves, more enthusiasm, more curiosity and more motivation. A TaKeTiNa workshop is a powerful launchpad for any new endeavor.
TaKeTiNa reawakens universal rhythmic patterns that are anchored in the core of every human being. It is a bridge which leads us back to our own rhythmic source.
